π Pop Up Prospects - Late-May 2022
I re-ran the model on 5/22, capturing statistics through 5/21. Here's a link to the updated top 500 Pop Up Prospects Sheets file.
Here are some of the biggest gains on the BATS:
- Logan O'Hoppe jumped from #214 to #12 overall. Yeah - number twelve. It kind of makes sense, though. From 5/13 (previous model update) to 5/21 (this model update), he hit .500 (12/24) with 4 BB and 3 K. He also slugged 6 HR during that time.
- Dustin Harris had a similar jump from #227 to #17. Since 5/13, he has hit .290 (9/31) with 5 HR, 3 BB, and 5 K.
- A few other rising BATS: Hao Yu Lee, Cody Morisette, Brett Wisely
Here's a few ARMS rising in the ranks:
- Josh Winckowski jumped from #86 to #12 overall, with a really nice outing on 5/17 in which he went 6 IP, gave up 2 H and 1 BB, tossing 9 K. Over the season, he has improved steadily, but he's the only pitcher in the top 25 that's not striking out more 10 or more batters per 9.
- Joey Cantillo jumped from #71 to #15 overall on two strong, but short outings: On 5/12 he went 4 IP with 1 H, 1 BB, and 8 K. On 5/20 he improved (slightly) on that line with 1 H, 0 BB, and 8 K.
- A few other rising ARMS: Calvin Ziegler, Gavin Stone, DJ Herz, JP Sears
- Wilmer Flores joined Eury Perez as the only two players with 60+ TOT scores.
